The ruined castle and lake give it extra dimensions and the guides in the house are very interesting without being pushy. Does this place or activity accept credit cards? The house is small but lovely to explore around and find out the family When the new family home was built, this castle was apparently partially ruined to create the moated folly that you see today in the grounds of the house. We visited during the Easter holidays. The grounds themselves are large and picturesque.

Wonderful grounds house and enchanted mock castle ruin The staff are very knowledgeable about house. The main house is interesting and cosy family home,but the jewel is the folly and elizabethan house surround by a moat with lovely gardens surrounding it with a moat and also has a boat house.
