Most traditional Bring to Light builds play similar to RUG Scapeshift, though you have to focus more on making sure your mana is fixed well and you may take more turns tapping out than you would in RUG. Blue Scapeshift lists have a low threat density. However, you need mountains in your deck to kill your opponent. This also includes Planechase and Commander format legal cards that are used in their respective format. While Titan Shift struggles immensely with other combo decks, Blue Scapeshift can Remand another combo player on a crucial turn and scapeshict untap and win. This comes at a cost of course — a fourth color is required to cast Bring to Light for four to tutor up Scapeshift and most of your highest impact sideboard cards and mainboard sweepers.
Jace helps with both of these problems by being a Brainstorm machine. Bring to Light variants are four colors. No items in your cart. With Twin gone, the format became more hostile to cards like Remand and Cryptic Command due to an overall increase in the speed of most decks.
The traditional Scapeshift list. To put scapdshift simply, Blue Scapeshift decks are trying to buy time to get to a lethal Scapeshift. This build bypasses the interactive cards like Remand and Cryptic Command in favor of more ramp, and more versatile cards like Supreme Will and Izzet Charm either dig or interact based on what the situation calls for. Bring to Light lists handle this better by running effective copies of Scapeshift.
Generally you want to scapeehift and get a single green mana online, and then work towards triple blue for Cryptic Command. Search your library for that many land scapesnift, put them into play tapped, then shuffle your library. Running out is a very real danger and while there is technically a plan B with a Jace, the Mind Sculptor ultimate or Snapcaster Mage beats those can be hard to pull off since those plans are slow and controlling the board can be csapeshift.
This format consists of the most recent “Core Set” and the two most recent “Block” releases. While Bring to Light builds are normally played in favor of RUG, these lists still have legs and can dominate in certain metas.
Blue Scapeshift lists usually have no problem getting to four lands by turn three, which means you can hold up Cryptic on your third turn or slam a Jace, the Mind Sculptor. Three months prior to this Cinder Glade was printed which also gave Titan Shift a leg up in asserting its dominance as the premier Valakut deck in a post-Twin Modern.
But the rest is up to personal preference. Blue Scapeshift has trouble dealing with large creatures and aggressive decks. Mainboard catch-all answers like Maelstrom Pulse that can be tutored by Bring to Light are great to have and come at a small deck-building cost. The deck plays a lot differently than a normal Blue Scapeshift deck and is closer to Titan Shift in the fact that it is trying to win by turn five every game. SCG Circuit tournament grinder CJ Steele recently brewed up a new approach to Bring to Light Scapeshift that has put up good personal finshes as well as other good finishes for other players trying the list.

Blue Scapeshift lists can deal scaepshift mainboard hate easier than other variants with bounce spells like Repeal and Cryptic or Maelstrom Pulse and Sultai Charm in Bring to Light variants.
