I can’t believe Ryo continues to be that clueless about Asuka’s feelings for her even if she is “the guy” in the relationship. Asuka is ultimate waifu. Again Otomen never fails to amaze. When you are telling a visual story get your frames setup correctly so it is understandable. The whole series, the whole thing was pretty interesting but in the middle, the story started to drag and it wasn’t as intriguing and when i just started the manga. Nov 15, Melissa rated it really liked it Shelves: I was like, “Seriously? Ryu is a good foil for Asuka but not much beyond being the object of Asuka’s affection and a bridge between Asuka and Juta. Really we’re devolving into whatever plot device we can work up to let the guys show off their Otomen Skillz. Ouran High School Host Club. I like to think so, but really they haven’t grown closer.
And, if like me, you Spoiler mouse over to view. Mar 25, Alex rated it it was ok Shelves: There’s a lot of tell versus show and for a shojo manga it lacked emotional depth. So, while some of the story was weakened in order to move things along, I’m extremely happy and cheered by the ending of one of my favorite manga series to date.
In the process, Azuka quietly finds other otomen to befriend. I enjoyed the concept, the characters and the art but it felt lacking everywhere else.
There were no loose ends. Kareshi Kanojo no Jijou. Kitora you make my life and this manga. It’s a typical kind of arrangement but the different intricate events make it extremely interesting to read about. Remember me Forgot password? February 1, .
Mar 25, to Nov 26, Genres: Dec 15, Seone rated it it was amazing Recommends it for: Return to Book Page. January 18, . Asuka is both strong willed and manly in otoen own way but likes stitching flowers, teddy bears and those super cute adorable bento boxes with faces on the food. I loved how the manga was pro-feminist and how there’s no objectification of women.
Otomen, Tome 4
For a while it looked like it was going to start focusing less on the main characters and more on the “new elements” ensemble, but it actually was a set-up for the latest US volume, Asuka Masamune is a guy who loves girly things—sewing, knitting, making cute stuffed animals and reading shojo comics. Ryo Miyakozuka, on the other hand, is a girl who can’t sew or bake otoken cake to save her life.
I’m glad his trope isn’t that “flowers aren’t manly”, because I think we already have enough characters who use that ideology as an excuse.
